Garrard's Contract Will Be Romo-Like
The Jaguars and quarterback David Garrard aren't in a rush to come to terms on a contract extension, but rumor is that the pact could rival the one Dallas gave Tony Romo, according to the Florida Times-Union.
"We're not insisting that [Garrard] gets more than Romo, but it's got to be in that ballpark," Garrard's agent said. "We're not going all the way back to [Houston Texans quarterback] Matt Schaub."
Titans Sign Chris Carr To Offer Sheet
Restricted free agent cornerback/kick returner Chris Carr has signed an offer sheet from the Titans, as reported by the Associated Press.
The Raiders will have seven days to match the contract once they receive the sheet.
Denver Offers Mare Deal
The Denver Broncos have offered free-agent kicker Olindo Mare a contract, according to the Rocky Mountain News.
He visited with the team on Tuesday and Wednesday and came away impressed. However, he still traveled to Seattle on Thursday to meet with the Seahawks.
"I wouldn't say that there wasn't enough to make me sign here because I had a great time. I loved it and all that. But obviously when you have options, it's good to explore them all," Mare said. "I'm lucky that the teams are interested are pretty much winning programs and on their way to the playoffs. That's a big part of what I want to be a part of right now."
McFarland, Others Visit With Steelers
The Steelers were visited by Anthony McFarland and three draft prospects on Tuesday, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Defensive tackle Anthony "Booger" McFarland has played on two Super Bowl teams but missed all of last season with a torn patella tendon.
Pittsburgh also hosted several draft prospects, including linebackers Shawn Crable (Michigan), Jerod Mayo (Tennessee), and running back Ryan Torain (Arizona State).
Jets, WR Coles Near New Deal
The Jets and wide receiver Laveranues Coles are reportedly close to agreeing on a long-term contract extension, according to the New York Post.
Coles reported to workouts with the team on Monday despite threatening to sit them out.
He has two years and $11 million left on his current contract, but an NFL source close to the Post claims that a new agreement is "imminent."

The New England Patriots are not interested in cornerback Pacman Jones, according to sources close to the Boston Globe.
Pacman's agent said last week that the former Titan was interested in joining the Patriots, and some took that as mutual interest. League sources indicate that this is not true.
Broncos Looking To Replace Elam With Mare
The Broncos would like to replace Jason Elam, who departed via free agency last week, with kicker Olindo Mare, according to the Rocky Mountain News.
Denver was trying to finalize a visit with Mare last week, with the Seahawks and Saints also interested in his services.
New Orleans released Mare in February.
QB Gray Says He's Yet To Sign With Texans
Quinn Gray says that he hasn't signed a deal with the Houston Texans just yet, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Gray has visited Green Bay and Oakland and plans to forego a pending work out with the Bills in order to finally sign a deal with the Texans.
"I don't plan on leaving here," Gray said Sunday. "I'm ready to sign. We've been talking on the phone, and now I'm going to meet face to face with Coach (Gary) Kubiak and Coach (offensive coordinator) Kyle Shanahan."
